HIGHLIGHTS

Long ago, a person named Shardu was ploughing in his field near the Janar pond in Binan village. His plough struck some metallic article and made a loud sound and the oxen stopped moving. Shardu saw that a mohra had struck his plough as a result of which a mark had been made on the face of the mohra. He picked it up and brought it home. People came to know that this was a devta but could not know which devta he was and where to establish him? In the night, the devta appeared in the dream of a person and told, “Go to the place where I was found. The place where the line of ants stops is the place where you have to construct the temple for me.’ Next day, the man told this to the villagers and they visited the place. They saw that ants were moving in long queue towards a particular direction. The people followed them. They then constructed the temple and founded the devta. Another tale goes that many years ago, temple of Binanhi Mahadeo existed about two kilometers away from the Binnanh village. The temple was buried in a landslide. Later on a statue was found in the field of Shardu. This is today placed in the village. The devta has eleven mohras and all the mohras contain inscriptions.
