HIGHLIGHTS

It is told that Buudhi naaganh was daughter of Suvaranhdev Bisht who used to come to graze sheep near the Suggasarpara lake. Once she saw nine flowers in full bloom. She started plucking them. By then there came the god of water in the form of a buzzing wild bee. The girl became afraid and fell into the pond. The Water god kept her with him for many days. When she came back home she gave birth to nine Nags. She kept them secret and kept on nourishing them. One day when she was away her mother saw them and thought of removing them. But the serpents fled away. When the girl came back, she was shocked to see that her children were gone. She also went away and started living alone and came to be known as Boodhi Naaganh (Old Nag woman) and she created the lake Sareulsar, near the Jalori jot. The devi has no rath, vehicle. It has mohras of ashtdhatu. The main mohra is named as mata ka kukh or mata ka mauli mukh. Other mohras are named as: boodha sreuli, chhaira, jogini mata, etc.
