HIGHLIGHTS

Veernath after he was killed in Thach village of Lag Valley, attained divinity and became popular as Gohri Devta. Once when Raja Man Singh of Kullu was going through Lag Valley to take on the forces of Raja of Mandi, the temple of Gohri Devta was damaged by the hoofs of king’s horse. The horse became lame as a result. The Raja prayed to Gohri Devta and the horse was miraculously healed immediately. When the Raja told about this episode to his queen she asked the Raja to make a temple of Gohri devta at Sultanpur at such a place so that she could see the Devta every morning. Raja obliged and made the temple at Dhalpur in front of his palace.
