HIGHLIGHTS
Legend is that Kartik Swami originally appeared out of the earth at shainshar to end the cruel reign of local chiefs who had destroyed all temples in their area. Kartik Swami killed all the rulers and their cronies at Shainshar, Tipri and Kais Dhar. He then took care of a pregnant lady and lived with her family at Nathan. When the lady was blessed with grandchildren, Kartik Swami disappeared in earth again. The descendants of the lady built a temple for him and started worshipping the deity.
